Honestly if we knew the actual answer, it wouldn't be a mystery would it? Then again mysteries never stopped human kind from trying to make theories to figure it out. Be it the mysteries of space or even the mysteries of molecules. One certainty is that mystery can make you have the choice to believe whether it is true or it isn't. So let me rephrase that question......what do you think is mystery and are you a mysterious person?

Well I believe mystery creates an "aura" as LAN would say it, but I think of it as an air of fuzziness. It makes it a little bit more interesting, a little bit more exciting, a bit more enticing because it can be both fact or fiction (hence the fuzziness). There is something about mysteries that make people itch in their mind because of their own curiosity. It leaves it up to the onlooker to figure it out or make their own conclusions. The best example of this is Apple. No not the fruit, but rather the company that makes those gadgets most of you hold in your hand. Apple creates such a mystery on what they are up to that media and bloggers go crazy coming up with their own fanatic ideas on how an Apple product will be. The truth is no one knows and Apple doesn't say anything to these media. Apple probably does it for buisiness strategy or something but it generates an effect of free publicity while also letting people explore their creative side. From the results I'm pretty sure it's a success for them.

So is it a wise decision to be mysterious? Perhaps....... I think positively it generates more interest while also keeping ourselves guarded. People can think whatever they want but they might never get to know the truth until they have unlocked the mystery in you. (that's probably a good indication that that person is the right one for you) Not only does it entice the person who tries to figure you out, it also entices you. Because while trying to figure you out you can filter those who just want to have another friend to add in Facebook or those who really want to know you for who you are. Wile they attempt to do so they also show some of their character and mystery. This is probably why mystery is pretty darn cool, it keeps you protected when moving forward.

On the other hand, mystery creates and generates disappointment. This is probably because all the "air of mystery" generates something way more than what the actuality is. Here's two examples:

1. Apple's iPhone 4s release. I don't understand why everyone was so disappointed and bashing Apple, calling them failure and what not. I really don't. Because as far as I'm concerned Apple didn't say a word about a new design or an iPhone 5. People speculated soo much that it creates such a false hope. The ones people should be disappointed or mad at are those who talk about their fantasy phone and made everyone believe Apple was going to make that. Lol. But you see, mystery creates disappointment when overhyped.
2. When you play the mystery card and people are trying to figure you out, they speculate all their fantasy about what you really are. But when they really come to know you and figure out that you are not what they perceive you to be, it dissapoints them and also makes you go thru a self esteem issue for not being the ideal person that others thought you were.

So you see there is two sides to this coin.

So here is my personal take. I am a person who apparently cannot be mysterious even if I tried. I'm just not that kind of a person. I tend to tell people everything a bit too quickly then I would really want to. I think of it as getting everything out in the open so no disappointments could occur. But at the same time it takes out the enticing/exciting season of getting to know each other. There's probably a balance for being completely open and being mysterious and I think I prefer being in that balanced position. Which is why when I'm new and no one knows me I tend to be mysterious, but once the 1st barrier breaks by people who actually want to know you, I tend to let it all out.......a bit too fast ( I need to work on that). That's where I stand on the issue of mystery..........where do you?

Moving Forward

Moving on is never easy. I think it's because it involves goodbyes and making new friends in foreign places. Both of those in itself is hard enough, but the combination makes it worse I suppose. Always admired people who have to move around a lot, how do they do it I often ask. It probably has built their resilience, which is sad to know that they can move on quickly with less regrets. I apparently can't do that even if I try. Probably something wrong with me. LOL.

Over the past three months or so moving on was my hobby (so was settling in). However some were welcomed changes, some not so.

Changed City

Changed University

A new room

New friends

New phone

Changing blogs....(again)

Obviously changes happen, but I tend to like familiarities for some reason even if it was unintentional. Maybe it's human nature, maybe it's just me. But starting again or moving on usually means having to be vulnerable again, which in all intent and purposes, I rather not have. Also it means change, which can be good but it also could be not so much fun. Like adjusting to new habits of new people, having to talk different ways because they don't get the jokes or punch lines anymore. Like changing your daily routine and how to approach stuff. At the same time, we learn new things with these changes.

So I guess its really on us to determine how we want to see change and moving forward really means. To me, I know its for the better and change is mostly good. Which is probably why I tend to be the one accepting the changes in a new relationship with friends, accepting their routines, their jokes, their catch lines while creating new ones with them. This is because familiarity is always the common ground for building a strong foundation in any relationships.

Therefore I would like to apologize for taking a long time to move on, and to move forward. Its not a wonderful feeling but it leads to a new path that might be better or it might not be. The only certainty is that there will be a new chapter to write. As for what was and what has been, I only wish it will be a lasting memory and also helps mould the relationship for the better.

~TRR~

Long Gone and Moved On - The Script
